Why Learning to Listen to Your Body and Tune into the Seasons is Life-Changing

We live in a world where there is so much contrasting information about what is good for you and what is bad for you. Studies that pick up on miniscule facts (focusing on one particular thing) end up making headline news and create confusion. One minute we’re demonising fat, the next it’s sugar and fat is back on the ‘healthy foods’ list. What?! So am I supposed to be eating fat to lose weight and to feel good, or not? And how much? It’s a minefield of information out there.

What if you stopped paying attention to all that noise and tuned into what you need…What your body is craving… What it feels like… What it wants to be nourished with.

What if you took a nap instead of going to the gym, because it’s dark outside and you feel tired. What if you didn’t feel like eating a salad as a) the produce available has been shipped halfway around the world and looks a bit anaemic, and b) makes you feel even colder in this weather.

What if you learned to listen to YOUR intuition and what YOU want? And actually felt more energised and happy in your skin because of it.

We all go through seasons and cycles, and what we need can change on a sometimes daily basis. My mission is to encourage you to listen to your body and learn to give it what it needs. I want to help you get to know your inner cycles and seasons, and how you can nourish yourself best so that you feel freaking amazing. Every. Single. Day! And when we feel energised and nourished, we can give so much back to others and this beautiful planet.

I am offering seasonal 11-day resets (with recipes, inspiration and practices covering mind, body and spirit) to inspire and support you to tune into your wellbeing needs. 11 days, because it’s enough time to feel a real difference all over and begin to really tap into what works for YOU. It’s also short enough to not feel overwhelming.

The seasonal element will support you with the holistic practices and foods that are associated with these seasons. I will be drawing heavily on the ancient holistic healing system of Ayurveda (sister science to Yoga), which looks at the entire being as all connected – and encourages you to nurture and nourish yourself in alignment with the seasons. It inspires you to eat seasonally and locally as these foods contain the most nourishment and are what nature gives us to support ourselves during these seasons. It also advocates for practices that are in alignment with the seasons.

For example in the autumn months we begin to look inwards and adopt a nourishing more restful routine and practices. It’s also the season known for being higher in ‘wind’ or ‘air’ energy and this is reflected in nature, with the leaves falling off the trees. We may feel that we get dry skin or feel scattered – signs of the season. So we will look to include practices that work with the season, helping you to ground your energy as well as nourishing and moisturising from within, plus more.

In Ayurveda we are also encouraged to get to know what our mind/body type is – our Dosha. There are three Doshas in Ayurveda, which are: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The Doshas are based on the natural elements; fire, water, earth and air. When you think of these elements certain qualities may come to mind. For example, earth may remind you of being grounded, and fire may bring feelings of heat or burning. Ayurveda uses these elements as a reference to explain all aspects of our physical and mental wellbeing.

With all of these resets you will begin with a quiz to determine your Dosha, as it may vary with each season, and from that you learn what foods and holistic practices will support you to bring it back into balance. When we are in balance we can expand our consciousness and reach a place of inner peace.

There’s so much wisdom in the principles of Ayurveda, it’s an honour to share parts to support you on your self-care journey of honouring your wellbeing.

The 11-day autumn reset starts on Monday 30thSeptember, but registration closes on Friday 27thto give you time to read through the guide and prepare yourself before we begin so that you gently ease yourself in.

The guide will include the following:

-      A quiz to work out your Dosha

-      An outline of what to expect throughout the 11 days

-      The seasonal foods and recipes you can choose from (please note I will be encouraging you to eat a plant-based diet with no alcohol or processed foods throughout)

-      An overview of the autumnal practices with space to reflect (which will be a mix of meditations, videos, tips and tools) that will be introduced – one-a-day – throughout the experience. Each of these practices will help you to connect to yourself and the season, so you have a toolbox of practices to support you to feel your best and in flow.

When we combine the nutrition element with the holistic practices to support your entire being, you will notice longer lasting, deep changes.

Everything will be sent to you via email, but there will be an optional Facebook group if you would like to do the 11-day reset live alongside others. In the group I will be doing the reset alongside and sharing my daily experiences. I will also post the daily practices so you will be able to ask questions, share your experiences etc. I personally find it’s more encouraging and supportive to do these things with others, so do recommend you join.

I am offering this as an incredibly special offer for the first time, of only £25, following this the price per reset will increase. You can join here: https://www.tarajackson.co.uk/product/11-day-autumn-fall-reset/.
